Getting started with ReplyRabbit
You can go from zero to your first AI draft reply in about ten minutes. Install FreeScout, add the ReplyRabbit module, connect an AI provider, then open a conversation and ReplyRabbit drafts a reply you can review and send.

1. Install FreeScout
ReplyRabbit runs inside FreeScout, so you need a working FreeScout help desk first. FreeScout is free, open source, and self-hosted, so your data stays on your own server. For requirements and install options (manual or Docker), see How to install FreeScout.
2. Install ReplyRabbit
Download the module, place the ReplyRabbit folder inside your FreeScout Modules directory, activate it in the admin, and clear the cache. The full walkthrough is in How to install the ReplyRabbit module.
3. Connect an AI provider
Open a mailbox's ReplyRabbit settings, choose an AI provider, and paste your API key. The Free tier uses OpenAI with one mailbox and 10 drafts per month; paid tiers add more providers (including local options like Ollama and LM Studio) and unlimited drafts. Add your company context to tune the draft voice. See How to set up ReplyRabbit for the full setup.
4. Generate a draft
Open any conversation in the connected mailbox. ReplyRabbit reads the thread, drafts a reply, and suggests next actions. Review the draft, edit anything you want, and send it. Nothing is sent automatically: you stay in control of every reply.
